Where do you usually get those pesky breakouts? I usually get them on my chin area nowadays (especially during that time of the month), making it so hard for my pimple patches to make it through the day. Those pimples usually take months to heal because it takes time for them to come to the surface and pop. Ugh, I hate them a lot.
Luckily, I received this product for free from @go.picky @pickyrewards and @skin1004official in exchange for my honest review on these new pimple patches.
These patches were tested for 2-3 weeks before coming up with my honest opinions. Conveniently, I got to use these pimple patches when approaching my period, when my skin usually wreaks havoc in the form of the most stubborn hormonal acne along my chin and jawline. These pimple patches basically got the true test of judgment.
Trying the Tea-Trica Treatment
Tea-Trica Spot Cover Patch currently retails at $2.50 USD on Stylevana for a pack of 22 patches of various sizes. Each patch contains hydrocolloid to soak up fluids from within the pimple so that it can dry out and properly heal. To go along with the themed skincare line, these pimple patches use tea tree to help soothe skin and dry out pimples so that it can speedily heal and minimize blemishes.
If you’re interested in trying this product out for yourself, you can save 10% on your purchase at Stylevana if you use my discount code INF10OHMY at the checkout. You can even get 15% off your purchase if you spend at least $59 USD with my discount code on Stylevana. I do receive a small percentage of commission if you use the code.
Why are these patches supposed to work well? There are some unique details to the pimple patch design to help your skin become its healthiest version:
- Medical-Grade Hydrocolloid: The sheet is supposed to have a strong adhesive that can stick to your skin without irritation and trap moisture for a smooth healing process. Creating this strong seal also helps prevent more bacteria from infecting the pimple and prolonging the healing process.
- Beveling Technique: The pimple patch is slimmer at the edges so that the patch is thinner and closer to your skin tone. Think of it as the skincare ninja that works in secret.
- Semi-Cut Film: The patches are all along a piece of semi-cut plastic that you can rip accordingly as you use the patches up.
- Centella Asiatica: Centella Asiatica is commonly used to treat inflammation and redness in skincare so that the recovery process for pimples can be faster and more hygienic.
A Patch Made in Heaven
Sealable Packaging
I appreciate the hygienic double packaging (one for opening the patches and the exterior for traveling or extended use). With this design, the pimple patches can also become travel-friendly. There are 22 patches of small, medium, and large sizes in the bag. This is because the patches are supposed to be when the pimple is ready to breakout or when it in the blemish stage.
Easy to Peel Without Breakage
The patches can be easily ripped out from the sheet without warping, which is a problem I’ve noticed in other patches in the past. I hate when the patches get caught onto the plastic sheets because it prevents my pimples from being properly protected. These Skin 1004 pimple patches don’t have that issue at all.
Unscented and Gentle for Sensitive Skin
There’s no scent to these if you are concerned with any tea tree scents. My skin did not break out from using these pimple patches during my testing period. Removing these pimple patches after every use was not a hassle and didn’t cling to my skin. Therefore, I think that the patches are a perfect solution for sensitive skin types.
Hidden in Plain Sight
Upon opening the patches, I was super impressed with how thin and transparent these patches are! When I put them on my pimple, they seamlessly blended into my tan skin. I would forget I was wearing these pimples sometimes when I touch my skin because they were very thin. The only time I would notice their presence, of course, was when the hydrocolloid absorbed the pus and cause a white dot to appear.
The patches are very comfortable and thin, so you can put makeup on top or wear them while working out (which I did for about 2 weeks). One thing I find annoying when trying pimple patches is when you can see the patch with makeup and it is marketed as a “makeup-friendly patch.” Since the patch design is beveled, the patch does a better job at blending into my skin and hiding under my rather lightweight makeup.
Noticeable Results
I was lucky enough to go through my time of the month to show noticeable progress pictures. This patch is thin and sturdy for even the chin/mouth area and lasted the whole night. My whole experience using these patches was near my mouth and chin, which are usually the hardest places for pimple patches to stick. These pimples definitely passed the hormonal acne test and are reliable for my period acne.
You can clearly see the results and how well it did at sucking up oil from my pimple. By the end of my testing period, my pesky pimple became close to healed. Seeing the progress pictures definitely wowed me. I had to do a double-take.
Were There Any Cons?
No cons! I wish there were more pimple patches in the packaging, which is an excellent con to have lol. But the price point for these is pretty good!
Would I repurchase?
Most definitely! For those with blemishes that are hard to heal or usually break out along their chin area like myself, consider using these for your next breakout. The patches are grippy enough to last throughout the day (sleeping, working out, under the heat, you name it). If you want a patch that can be so comfy and invisible on your skin, Skin 1004’s pimples are your best bet.
I was very impressed with how thin and sturdy these patches were. They are very makeup-friendly if you wear makeup very frequently. As someone who usually wears more natural makeup, these ones hide pretty well.
I highly recommend them for early and late-stage breakouts. The pimple design is more meant for when your pimples hit a breaking point and have to pop. These are supposed to help with healing your skin, so I wouldn’t think they are very effective when you have early-stage breakouts.
