Are you ready for the summer? I’ve been prioritizing stocking up on sunscreens to get through the dry summer weather coming up. Under the blazing heat, my dry skin needs all the support it can get to protect itself from UV rays that can make it prone to wrinkles and irritation.
Luckily, I was gifted this beautiful sunscreen from @thankyoufarmer_official @go.picky @pickyrewards in exchange for my honest review. I used this sunscreen in my morning routine for about 2 to 3 weeks before coming up with my thoughts mentioned in this post.
Stay Protected and Stay Cool
Safe Sun Fluid Age 0880 with PA++++ SPF 50+ from Thank You Farmer is currently sold at $22 USD for 100 mL on Stylevana. It is a mineral sunscreen that calms down the skin while providing lightweight moisture and a dewy finish. According to the Thank You Farmer, this sunscreen is supposed to lower your skin temperature by 4 degrees Celsius and is low irritation formulated, free of mineral oil and parabens.
By the way, you can purchase this product at a cheaper price and with 10% off your total if you buy it with my discount code INF10OHMY at Stylevana. If you purchase at least $59 USD worth of your Kbeauty essentials on Stylevana, you can get 15% off your order with that same discount code. I do receive a small percentage of the commission if you use my code.
This sunscreen works hard to keep you protected because of some of their ingredients listed, including:
- Centella Asiatica Extract and Mild Protection Complex(Camellia flower extract + Matri Caria flower/leaf extract, Pancratium Maritimum Extract): These ingredients work together to soothe your skin and reduce inflammation from dryness and environmental stressors.
- Titanium Dioxide: This ingredient is used in skincare for SPF protection and for thickening the product to enhance anti-aging properties of other ingredients.
- Stearic Acid: Stearic Acid serves as a binder for skincare and helps provide moisture to reduce irritation and dryness that can cause pimple formation.
What makes this sunscreen also worthy of consideration is that it is free of parabens, mineral oil, silicone oil, artificial colors, benzophenone, and phenoxy ethanol. It is a sensitive-skin-friendly formula.
Formulated for the Perfect Summer Skin
Protective Packaging
I’m a huge sucker for skincare packaging, and Thank You Farmer did a great job with it. The packaging is adorable with the little hat illustration and the stripes! It literally screams “summer in a bottle” vibes. On top of that, the bottle packaging is a sturdy plastic so that the heat doesn’t affect the potency of the sunscreen formula. Although the sunscreen is in a bottle, I had no worries with squeezing out the sunscreen fluid that is inside. I can definitely see this being in use during a beach trip for both my face and body.
Lightly Scented
There’s a light scent that’s normal with mineral sunscreens that has these chemical-y notes to it. It doesn’t smell plasticky, but more like the thick creamy lotions that you use. The scent does fade out over time as the formula dries on your skin.
Easy to Blend
The sun fluid is a creamy milk, lotion-like consistency that can easily be spread out to provide a thin protective film on your skin. I love how easy it was to blend into my skin compared to other mineral sunscreens. This blend time does take some time for my medium skin tone because it can leave a slight white cast if not spread well enough.
I can imagine it might take longer to minimize this white cast for darker skin tones. If you have a darker skin tone and want to try this product, I would suggest applying it in sections to your face. Start with a pea size amount for a section of your face and work on gently blending it into your face till it disappears. Then, repeat on the rest of your face, neck, and decolletage area.
Icy Sensation
Now, I do not have a skin temperature thermometer on hand for me to test the cooling effects of this sun fluid. I can only go by personal experience post-application. I was very impressed with how ice-cold my skin was feeling after application! Applying this sunscreen can be best described as drinking an ice-cold beverage after being dehydrated under the blazing hot sun. Thank You Farmer’s Safe Sun Fluid is the ice-cold beverage that your skin desperately needs. If you have any areas that are prone to sunburn on your face or body, this cooling effect will be super relaxing for you.
No Sign of Breakouts
After using this sun fluid multiple times during my morning routine, my skin looks perfectly fine. It didn’t break me out after multiple wears to the gym, too. I was also wearing a face mask while working out during this testing period and not once did my skin break out. It could also be because I did a great job at double cleansing, but this sunscreen does it’s job of supporting my skin. My skin continued to have that super dewy finish that made me look more awake and hydrated.
A usual issue of sunscreen would be encountering that stinging sensation around the eyes, whether you like it or not. You can experience this while washing the sunscreen off or due to sweat dripping down your face. This sunscreen did not provide any of the stinging.
More of a Tone Up Sunscreen
This is only a note of precaution for darker skin tones. I think just keep in mind darker skin tones might need to spread out the product more to blend it in since it is a creamy white formula. If you’re using this before makeup, there’s no issue then.
This product falls along the trend of tone up sunscreens that are meant to brighten your complexion. Therefore, you will likely notice that your skin will look a bit whiter than usual once you rub the product on your skin. You can notice this brightening effect in the before and after pictures that I posted above.
Would I repurchase?
Yes! I think the price to product quality is justified for this one. I love how my dry skin feels during and after using it. My skin felt super moisturized when using it so I can consider this being a moisturizer sunscreen duo that’s cheaper than my fave LRP Toleraine moisturizer. Super excited to use this up this summer, especially since I have a few trips I plan to do.
