Eye gels are probably my favorite skincare product to turn to right now. Imagine yourself feeling tired and exhausted from another long day, so you do some skincare to “treat yourself.” Eye gels are what I consider to be that “treat yourself” type of skincare. You may not think they’re necessary, but they really level up your skincare and make you feel better afterward. Consider them as an investment for relaxation and happiness.
My love for eye gels made these rose water hydrogel patches from Heimish a clear choice for testing. I was contacted by Heimish a few weeks ago to test out some of their products in exchange for my honest review. I used this product for around two to three weeks in predominantly my nighttime routine before coming up with my opinions listed below.
This blog post was not part of my obligated duties with Heimish. I am documenting my more in-depth thoughts of my experience here for skincare lovers who love doing their research before buying new products. So, enjoy!
Why use Damask Rose or Bulgarian Rose Water?
Damask roses, also known as Bulgarian roses, originate from the Middle East and have been well-loved for centuries for their beauty, fragrant aroma, and their skincare benefits. These flower species are often used for luxury perfumes when it calls for rose water because of their beautiful scent. Water has been known for being antibacterial (healing/preventing breakouts), its anti-inflammatory powers (soothing redness), and for toning (exfoliant).
Damask rose also contains antioxidants, vitamin C, and collagen, making it great for fighting off skin damage and maintaining youthful skin. Being out in the sun can speed up your skin’s aging process, so consider smelling the roses in your skincare, too.
Why Would You Love These Hydrogel Eye Patches?
Bulgarian Rose Water Hydrogel Eye Patch cost $22 USD for 60 pcs on their website. These rose-scented gel patches are meant to improve line appearance (adenosine) and brighten dull skin (niacinamide).
Besides the main ingredients listed, here are some other supporting skincare ingredients to give your skin some love:

My thoughts
Can it Be Any More Perfect?
The eye gels are gorgeous since they feed into my sparkly pink obsession. It’s got sparkles. It’s got pink. When the gels are bunched together, they look like dewy rose petals. I mean, what more could you even want with the design of these eye gels. I could look at them forever and get lost in the sparkles.
Light Rose Scent
Since the focus of Heimish’s skincare line is rose-focused, do not be surprised by the rose scent. The product has a light rose scent to this product that is not headache-inducing. I find that the scent is calming and pleasant. This scent does fade away over time as the gels dry up and lose their moisture.
Instant Cooling Sensation
These eye gels left an instant cooling sensation once applied to my skin. Instantly, my skin felt soothed so that the de-puffing effects could go into action on my dull undereye area. I left these patches on for about 10 to 30 minutes and my skin did appear firm and brightened. The solution helps smooth out texture because it leaves this light layer of film to it. Even the shininess of the solution of these patches helps do the job of minimizing signs of aging so that you are more focused on the fact that you look like you got that good night’s sleep that you’ve been dreaming of.
Brightened, Healthy Skin
Since using these eye gels, I can happily report that my skin is not breaking out. There may contain some coconut which can be known to be pore clogging and also castor seed oil in this formula. However, the amount of both ingredients and their consistencies make the serum solution lightweight enough for my under-eye area which usually has thin skin. The solution leaves a light layer of sheen that can distract from signs of dullness or tiredness so that I look relaxed and energized.
Only Area of Improvement
Although these patches are recommended to use in the morning to say goodbye to dull eyes, I personally don’t think I would use these for the morning. The liquid of these patches can pill on my skin if the gels are soaked in so much of the serum solution. This makes it hard to create a smooth application of my foundation or concealer, as well as hard to work with certain makeup primers. To avoid this situation, I would suggest avoiding makeup primer over where you place the eye gels since the solution has a slight tackiness to keep makeup in place.
Would I Repurchase?
Yes, I think I would. For $22 USD and the number of eye gels you get, this product can last a long time. You can use these eye gels every day and not have to worry about milia or breaking out. I would suggest using these 2-3 times a week to make the most out of them.
In terms of using it for the morning, I think these are great if going makeup-free or going very minimal with the makeup. For people who love to use mattifying or high-coverage makeup, these patches might work for their morning routine.
The eye gel solution should be perfect for most skin types. There are some ingredients like coconut extract and castor seed oil that I’m not sure would work well with sensitive skin types because they can be pore-clogging if you overdo it. Dry skin and mature skin types will have the most benefits from this formula because they need those antioxidants and collagen-boosting ingredients to keep their skin moisturized and clear of stubborn breakouts.
