Have you been making sure you had a good night’s sleep? I previously thought I did by making sure I slept my required six to eight hours. However, it still wasn’t enough for me to have the high-quality sleep that I’ve been wanting so badly.
So what was that missing step to having the kind of sleep that made me look awake and not sleep-deprived? Well, it had to be finding the right skincare to support my skin at night. That is, skincare that specifically contains vitamin A.
An Amazing Sleep Starts with Vitamin A
Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream currently retails at $33 USD for 30mL on Stylevana. This cream is literally meant to top off your nighttime routine by providing a layer that can seal in your moisturizing skincare and make it strong enough to fight aging and blemishes. Basically, it is your skin’s new bestie that has your back when you are off the clock. This night cream is designed to be sensitive-skin friendly and hypoallergenic so that it can help anyone repair their skin from UV damage and minimize signs of aging.
If you have been wanting to try adding retinol into your routine, this product is designed to be the proper introduction. Retinol can have side effects that can leave your skin flaky and super dry. For someone like myself who avoided using retinol for those reasons, or for someone who wants to avoid animal-derived retinol (otherwise known as retinoids), Wishtrend’s night cream can be a possible solution for you. It is formulated with carotenoids, the second source of retinol that is vegan.
There are some notable ingredients in this night cream that makes it friendly for newbies to Vitamin A:
- Retinal: Source #1 for vitamin A that is a vegan, less irritating alternative to retinol. Vitamin A helps with rejuvenating your skin by boosting skin cell turnover so that your skin stay hydrated and prevent the formation of wrinkles.
- Bakuchiol: Source #2 for vitamin A that is also less irritating and vegan compared to some forms of retinol.
- Macadamia Seed Oil: Macadamias are superfoods that can work for all skin types due to their emollient properties and their talent of balancing sebum levels in your skin.

A Great Introduction to Retinal
Cute Packaging
The packaging is a pump style which makes it hygienic and easy to use for travel! I love the unique packaging because it is a lavender purple with details of neon highlighter yellow. It definitely is a unique addition that can stand out from more simple skincare packaging.
Smooth Like Butter
The night cream came out as a bright lemon yellow and has a consistency of thick butter. I had to do a double take with the neon yellow color of this product, but it was perfectly fine and blends well into my medium skin tone. No need to worry about the possibility of a white cast.
The ability to spread this product on your face also depends on the situation. If you put it on dry skin, the cream will take a bit longer to blend out due to the thick formula. Wishtrend recommends using a maximum of 3 pumps to spread on damp skin to avoid this issue and prevent unnecessary tugging of your skin. I recommend doing this, too, if you have dry or mature skin since those skin types are more prone to the formation of wrinkles.
An Acquired Smell
The smell of the cream reminds me of a mix of fruit and some herbs. This interesting scent is probably due to the use of fig extract, centella asiatica, and eclipta prostrata leaf. I wouldn’t say this smell is pleasant. It definitely takes some time to get used to it, but it is not an overbearing scent that can mess with your nose.
Noticeable Difference
I did see an improvement in my skin by using this every night for the past 3 weeks. My skin looked more radiant and I do think my pesky dark blemishes have been getting lighter from using it on top of my usual routine.
The night cream left my skin feeling calm and buttery smooth after each use. I can say that I felt my skin texture improve since I experienced little to no signs of a breakout. Usually, retinol can come with an initial round of purging (or breakouts), but I was fortunate enough to not undergo that.
My Only Caveat
Although my experience with Wishtrend’s night crema was lovely, I do have a slight con. The only con would have to be the scent if you’re not a fan of strong, herbal/chemically scents from the leaf extracts. I personally didn’t mind it after a while. The benefits of using this product outweighed this only con.
Would I repurchase?
Yes! I think this is a great introduction to retinals and retinols for people who want to try the ingredient out. I never tried it since I was worried about breaking out and ruining my hard work maintaining my skin, but this product is great!
The $33 price tag might seem like a lot. However, considering you just need 1-2 pumps of this product to use on damp skin, this can last maybe 2-3 months at most. I would say this is a justified reason to buy it. Wishtrend even says not to use more than 3 pumps of this product to minimize the possibility of breakouts or flaky skin.
I definitely recommend it and am hoping to try more of @bywishtrend.kr in the future. Thanks again!
