If there is one thing to know about Bubble Skincare, it should be that they don’t play around with their products! They definitely know how to leave a big impression and how to make skincare fun or approachable.
Recently, I was gifted their dry skin set a while back to provide honest feedback, so I genuinely wanted to give a few weeks for testing and come up with my thoughts on their products. This is actually the last post I have talking about my dry skin bundle from Bubble. If you’re curious about their other products that are suited for dry and mature skin, be sure to check out my reviews for their Cloud 9 Facial Oil and their Slam Dunk Hydrating Moisturizer.
Bubble’s Over Night Hydrating Sleep Mask was the product I was most excited to test out since I received this during my dry skin winter. December to February is usually when I turn to nourishing, creamy formulas to maintain my skin barrier and keep it firm. It is also when my pajamas and my blanket are my preferred uniform of choice.
Sleep is So Underrated
Beauty sleep is so, so important. It is not fun to brag about your sleepless nights partying or grinding on work that you had to get done. If you prioritize your health and your beauty, then sleep has to be a part of your daily schedule. No excuses.
There are multiple reports stating that sleep serves as a recovery period for your skin to heal. It is a chance for your skin to fight the aging process by increasing blood flow to encourage collagen production and reduce damage from UV rays. Lack of collagen results in skin that is more dehydrated and dull. If you want to avoid wrinkles and have a faster healing time for breakouts, then you need your sleep. Even at least five hours should be your goal.
Heal Your Skin While Catching Z’s
Now that we know that sleep is an essential recovery period for our skin, let’s talk about further supporting our skin with our skincare regimen. Bubble’s Overnight Hydrating Sleep Mask retails at $20.00 USD for 50 mL on their website. This leave-on mask is supposed to level-up your skin by soothing, hydrating, and brightening it while you sleep. It also is supposed to be creamy, yet lightweight so that you don’t clog your pores and end up with pesky breakouts.
You might want this sleep mask for yourself because of these awesome ingredients:
- Maple Sap: Maple leaf is especially beneficial for dry and sensitive skin types due to the high amount of antioxidants in it. The antioxidants will help with barrier repair by protecting your skin against environmental aggressors that can affect its aging process.
- Mandelic and Kojic acids: Mandelic acid has anti-microbial properties that can reduce the likeliness of breakouts and blackheads forming. It also has anti-aging benefits by activating skin cell turnover for a youthful glow. Kojic acid is also used for brightening skincare products because it can suppress melanin overproduction in the form of blemishes and discoloration.
- Sodium PCA: A common ingredient in skincare and cosmetics, this natural ingredient helps your skin by drawing in moisture and trapping it for long-lasting, healthy skin.
- Biosaccharide Gum: Biossaccharide gum is a complex sugar derived from sorbitol (from bacterial fermentation). It is what helps your skincare products provide a film for your skin to stay moisturized and for your skin texture to smoothen out.
- Arnica: Arnica is from a flower called the Arnica montana. It is used for healing and soothing wounds and bruises, so this benefit can also be applied to skincare issues.
- Triglycerides: An ingredient binder and a preservative, triglycerides are ingredients that steal the show. They also have antioxidant properties that can minimize the early signs of your skin aging.
Fun to Use and Sleep in
Packaging Points
Again, Bubble knocks it out of the park with the packaging! It’s great quality and sturdy, plus the switch mechanism on the pump is so smart for traveling. The vibrant-colored packaging for each of their products adds a nice pop of color to my skincare collection. The brand’s focus on color also makes it enticing for skincare newbies and changes the idea that skincare can be boring, so I definitely see this item as a great product for teens, too.
A Little Product is Enough
1-3 pumps is the perfect amount for covering your face and neck area. I would use the mask right after putting on toners and serums so that my skin would have an easier time absorbing the product. The cream is a lightweight, milky texture that takes a bit of time to blend into your damp skin. The mask serves a protective barrier to seal in the goodness of your skincare while you sleep.
No Breakouts
My skin didn’t break out with this product and I do feel like my skin is left with a cooling sensation to reduce redness. There has been some improvement with my blemishes since they have slightly faded out. Pimple breakouts were less frequent and, in combination with their other products that I’ve tested, my skin has been feeling super duper smooth and calm.
A Nice Break from the Usual
I’ve also been loving that this can be an alternative to moisturizer for the nighttime. If you’re looking to switch to overnight masks every once in a while, consider starting with this one! It has no scent and doesn’t clog your skin.
I think using 1-3 pumps of the mask is okay for the wintertime. However, if you plan to use this during the warmer times of the year, I would recommend using 1 pump on wet skin to prevent breakouts. I usually go for more lightweight formulas during the summer, so you can adjust your usage for the summertime, too.
Would I repurchase?
Yes! I have no complaints about the product and I would say that using all three products from their skincare set gave me my smoothest skin ever. I was very impressed with how baby skin smooth my face was feeling. Even my mom was enjoying this sleep mask since she also has dry skin. Safe to say, it’s both mature skin and dry skin approved!
