Have you ever wanted to look like a zombie? 🧟♀️ Nah, that’s a no for me. When zombies come to mind, I think of someone that looks tired with dark under eyes. That may be acceptable for Halloween, but definitely not 24/7!
2022 was such an eventful year that is sure to make anyone feel and look like a zombie. The start of the new year means letting bygones be bygones and turning a new chapter. I wanted to start the new year right, and what better way to do it than with the Zombie Pack from Zombie Beauty by Skin 1004.
Note: I received this product for free from Picky and SKIN1004 in exchange for my honest review. I tested this product for 2-3 weeks before coming up with my honest opinions.
Skincare to Make You Scream … for Joy
Zombie Beauty is a skincare line from Korean skincare brand, Skin 1004. Skin 1004’s product line is full of more simple, minimalistic-looking skincare. Think of Zombie Beauty as Skin 1004’s wild child where horror, kitschiness, and effective skincare are the focus.
As the name states, the Zombie Pack (Pore Tightening and Lifting Pack) by Zombie Beauty focuses on improving skin texture and appearance with a tightening facial. The product reminds me so much of when the beauty community was in the infamous (maybe utterly terrifying) DIY phase. Specifically, this product reminds me of when beauty influencers recommended putting egg whites on our faces to tighten our pores and make them shrink to oblivion.
The Zombie Pack is marketed as a face mask to tighten pores and give you a facelift effect to make you look younger and more awake. This is a safe version of the DIY method, so now you can try it out without any possibility of salmonella. Skin 1004 claims for the product works so well because of the following key ingredients:
- Albumin: This ingredient is derived from egg whites to tighten the skin and improve its elasticity. Basically, this is the key reason why we were told to use egg whites on our faces.
- Centella Asiatica Extract: A common skincare ingredient for people who are prone to redness. Centella Asiatica is used for healing wounds, lightening blemishes, and for an instant cooling sensation for the skin.
- Aloe Vera Extract: Aloe is used for cooling the skin, getting rid of dead skin cells, and minimizing the appearance of discoloration (scars, blemishes, wounds).
- Rose of Jericho Extract: The lovely plant is not only a symbol of good fortune but also amazing anti-aging benefits due to its antioxidant properties.
- Sea Buckthorn Extract: Sea buckthorn can help with moisturizing the skin because it does contain omega 3. This ingredient is recommended for mature and dry skin types because it can help promote collagen production.

An Egg-cellent Experience
Very Hygienic Packaging
In terms of packaging, it was great and very hygienic! The box comes with 8 masks (8 activators, 8 powder packs in small bowls) that you can make so that the process is easy. I personally love how they provide a wrapped facial brush since I’ve been wanting one for a while.
Easy to Use
The process was super easy. Open, mix, brush, and wait. The zombie pack powder didn’t even need water to turn into a yellow, grainy, and watery mixture (similar to an egg wash for pastries). You just had to mix the activator with the powder to get the face mask.
The process of using the mask was very clean and didn’t even leave a mess. I think the only messy part of the experience is just washing off the product and cleaning the brush. My recommendation to make the cleanup process easier would be to clean the brush while the product is still wet so that you can thoroughly it out for future use.
No Egg Smell
I was kind of scared to have an egg-y smell while using the product. However, I was pleasantly surprised to have a very floral scent. The light smell was therapeutic and floral since it contains lavender oil, centella asiatica, and multiple flower extracts.
Zombie Beauty also noted that if you did have an unpleasant smell, then it was a result of the albumin (egg white) powder that is used. They try to minimize the use of artificial scents in their products, so keep this in mind if you are expecting to not have a bad smell.
Super Relaxing Application Process
My skin felt cool upon application and was not irritated. Painting the facial on felt like being a pastry because of the egg wash haha. The waiting experience was fun since I later turned into a shedding, wrinkly zombie. I may have looked like a horrifying zombie that was ready to rise from my grave. However, I just felt like a puff pastry that was waiting to bake in the oven.
A Little Shedding for Some Shine
By layering the product on my skin, it got to a point where it was so difficult to move my mouth. It was super tight and any facial gesture could result in the cracking (aka the zombie effect). There was some slight shedding, but no need to worry. That’s part of the process.
The mask was surprisingly easy to wash off (1-2 minutes) and left my skin feeling hydrated, tighter, and glowy thanks to ingredients like panthenol, honey, niacinamide, and glycerin. I did feel that my skin was more plump because the mask served as a light exfoliator.
Subtle Spooky Improvements
No cons for me. I love how the brand emphasized hygiene because the process was not messy at all. My skin feels and looks great!
I think for other people, the only issue would be removing the mask from their skin. There was one experience where I layered the product onto my face and it did create a thicker mask that dried over time. Since removing the mask did take a while due to clumps being stuck on my skin, this can cause some mild redness as a result.
If you have sensitive skin or mature skin, I would recommend using the mask for around 10 minutes or when the mask feels slightly cool/wet. By using it for a smaller amount of time, it would be much easier to remove without irritating your skin or causing wrinkles. Another solution would just be to get a wet cloth and leave it on your skin for a minute to rehydrate the product for removal.
As mentioned earlier, I think some people might not like this product if they are sensitive to strong scents. Some people are not fans of lavender or eucalyptus-like scents while others might not enjoy the smell of egg whites.
Would I repurchase?
This product was on my Amazon wishlist prior to receiving this from Picky, and I loved every second of it! So yes. This was my first time with the brand and I’ve been eyeing their other masks for a while now. I would love to try their other cute masks in the future especially during Halloween 🎃
Have you tried this before? What other wash-off masks would you recommend?
